Hōkūlei, which translates to a "Garland of Stars," is a sublime sipping rum created to rival the world's finest spirits. This award-winning masterpiece is a complex blend of seven rums aged from 18 months to 18 years, including Kuleana’s own estate-grown Aged Hawaiian Rum Agricole.
The experience is a "kaleidoscope of magnificence," beginning with an aromatic profile of ripe banana, saltwater taffy, and toasted pineapple. On the palate, it reveals layers of depth with notes of lime zest, lilikoi, and mangosteen, harmonized by warm baking spices like clove and nutmeg. The finish is long and sophisticated, characterized by Medjool dates, dry sherry, rum-soaked raisins, and toasted oak with subtle hints of koji mushrooms.
As a strictly additive-free spirit, Hōkūlei contains no added sweeteners, flavors, or coloring. This dedication to purity earned it the title of "Best American Aged Rum" in 2024 from Wine Enthusiast and a Double Gold Medal at the New York World Spirits Competition.
